Children’s Painting Class with Hillary Ash, October 22nd

kids-paint-fall-2016On Saturday, October 22nd, Bath resident, painter and Colorful Canvas owner Hillary Ash will teach an art class for children ages 6-12 years in Crown Point Ecology Center’s Century Barn. Experience isn’t necessary, so even beginning painters can pick up a brush and create a work of art on canvas. The class will be followed by a bonfire with s’mores! Parents are welcome to stay with their children, but bring a book or your hiking shoes; the class is only for children. Cider and snacks will be available.

When students arrive for the class, there will be acrylic paints, brushes, easels, and acres of nature’s beauty, courtesy of the Crown Point Ecology Center. Children will be following the instructor’s lead to paint their own version of a scene she’s completed beforehand.

Crown Point’s beautiful 5 miles of green space is right in Ash’s backyard and her children attend Crown Point programs, so it’s a natural place for her to share her artistic talents with young members of our community. “Some say that Crown Point is one of Summit County’s best kept secrets, so an opportunity such as this can introduce new people to this historic property,” said Ellen Otto, Special Events Coordinator. Additionally, painting can help us tap into our creativity – in keeping with Crown Point’s mission since painting and the arts are aligned with nature.

Class time is from 1:00-3:00 pm. To reserve a spot, send a check in the amount of $25  to Crown Point Ecology Center, PO Box 484, Bath, OH 44210 or make your reservation online. You can also call 330-668-8992 for additional information or to make payment by phone.
