This event is officially SOLD OUT. Please check out the other two dinners in this series on February 22nd and March 23rd. Thank you!

We have all heard the adage,You are what you eat” … but what does that really mean from a medical perspective?

Please plan to join us on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. for a healthy dinner and discussion on “Medical Benefits of Organic Food” led by Joseph B. Blanda, M.D. in partnership with Crown Point Ecology Center and Mustard Seed Market & Café. This will be the first in a three part series. (Additional dinner dates/speakers will be on February 22nd and March 23rd.)

Dr. Joseph B. Blanda, MD

Dr. Blanda is an Orthopedic Surgeon who has practiced in Akron for the past 25 years. Nutrition has always been a passion for Dr. Blanda and is a big part of his treatment plans. He will discuss the health benefits of organic foods specifically focusing on how they fight inflammation in common diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, cancer and heart disease. Pertinent medical research will be presented in layman’s terms that will be applicable to all who attend.

Crown Point Executive Director, Monica Bongue-Bartlesman, Ph.D., and team members from Mustard Seed Market & Café,  Abraham Nabors and Gabriel Riazi, will also be on hand to collaborate with Dr. Blanda to share additional information about the night’s topic and our local natural food resources.

The menu will be prepared with local, seasonal, Ohio-grown, organic, allergy-friendly foods provided by Crown Point and Mustard Seed Market & Café.  The price for this dinner and discussion is $40. Reservations are required and seating is limited to the first 20 people.  Please call Crown Point at 330-668-8992 to make your reservation or send your check to:  PO Box 484, Bath, OH 44210.
