CSA Waiting List

In 1997, Crown Point began a partnership with the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank to provide much needed fresh produce to their member agencies. The project began thanks to the support of the Katherine and Lee Chilcote Foundation, which provided the start-up funds for the partnership.  That first year we grew potatoes, cabbage, beans, onions, and tomatoes on a trial basis.  The overwhelming success of that first season encouraged both organizations to continue the project.  Since then, our farm has been able to provide nearly 20,000 pounds of certified organic produce  to the Foodbank each year.  To date, we have donated over 120,000 pounds of healthy vegetables for distribution to soup kitchens and food pantries in an eight county area.

The list below shows a few of the crops and the amounts (in pounds) we were able to donate in 2003:

Cabbage: 5,341 Tomatoes: 1,588 Potatoes: 4,377 Onions: 1,211
