Crown Point Ecology Center

Crown Point's Homeschool Programs are open to children ages 6 to 13.  Health and permission forms are due no later than the day of the class and can be retrieved by using the links above. Parents are responsible for providing a sack lunch.

Organic Gardening

Children have been an integral part of the youth gardens at Crown Point for many years.  This class will delve into the ‘how to' of organic gardening. Home schoolers will get down and dirty with the worms, composting techniques, planting seeds, and learning about natural pest control.

Garden Creations

This is the day we will be a new endeavor in the youth gardens.  From creating scarecrows to making a shoe garden, the sky is the limit.  Students are asked to bring any run-down, beaten up, scruffy shoes that are ready to be tossed.  We will use these as pots; one to take home and on to add to the youth shoe garden.



Smells and Tastes

Throughout the day students will explore the Herb Garden at Crown Point.  Using herbs from the garden, students will create herbal vinegars, make lotion, and lots more.  Each student will take home what they create and recipes to re-create their herbal products at home.
