Youth have been visiting Crown Point Ecology Center for the past ten years.  These visits have brought children closer to where their food is grown, letting them see where the food originates before it goes to local families and the Akron/Canton Regional Foodbank.  The idyllic setting of Crown Point allows children to 'get their hands dirty' and join in the seasonal activities of an organic farm.

There are four basic types of visits offered at Crown Point Ecology Center.  The first, Farm-Based Environmental Education (FBEE), assists both students and teachers in reaching the Ohio Proficiency Outcome for their grade level.

Teachers are encouraged to adjust and integrate the activities within their FBEE Teacher Packets.  Please refer to the FBEE page for detailed information.

The second type of visit is Youth Service oriented.  These visits are geared for Scouting or Brownie Troops.  The visit begins with work in one of the Children's Gardens and ends with educational activities.  The prices, contact, themes and times are the same as those for the school groups.  Please visit the FBEE page for detailed information.

The third type of visit for youth are our Earth Camps.  Earth Camp is a summer day camp program which begins at 9am and ends at 3pm.  The camp aims to bring kids closer to understanding the environment around them, where their food comes from, and help them gain a respect for the Earth through songs, crafts, games and caring for the Children's Gardens.  Dates, themes and other details can be found on the Earth Camp page.

The fourth type of visit is developed for Home Schoolers. These programs are held once a month (excluding January, February and July), and have themes ranging from gourds to insects and much more.  Visit the Home School page to discover what this program has to offer.
