Bring your youth group or Scout troop for a fun day of service learning!

Youth Service Learning at Crown Point is a unique way for groups to "get their hands dirty" as they assist in the seasonal activities of the Crown Point Farm and Children's Gardens.

The cost is $5 per child, with a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 30 participants. Times can be arranged to fit your group's specific needs, but a day of service generally begins at 10:00am and ends at 2:00pm. Youth service learning opportunities are available from March to November each year.

A typical day begins with work in the gardens, followed by a break for lunch and then an educational activity in the afternoon. Activities are dependent upon the season and the weather. Spring activities include planting, transplanting, weeding and preparing the soil. Summer activities include harvesting, planting and weeding. Fall activities include harvesting and planting cover crops.

For more information or to schedule a visit, please contact Crown Point's Education Coordinator Heather McClure at (330)668-8992 or .
