Support Crown Point’s Mission through our Annual Appeal.
Crown Point’s mission is simple -- to demonstrate the practical applications of ecology and to connect spirituality, social justice and environmental protection.

Your annual appeal dollars will support the following at Crown Point.

EDUCATION:  Crown Point conducts educational outreach to area schools throughout the year – on site and off – as well as hosts its annual Summer Farm and Science Camp for elementary students. These programs teach students through hands-on learning at Crown Point about the cycle of food to table as well as the importance of sustainable living.

SOCIAL JUSTICE:  Since the beginning of our Foodbank Farm (now called First Fruits Initiative) more than 15 years ago, Crown Point has donated 279,277 pounds (139.6 tons) of healthy organic food to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Good Samaritan Hunger Center and other hunger relief programs.

SUSTAINABLE LAND USE:  Crown Point is a practical living laboratory providing an example of proper sustainable land use practices. Crown Point was instrumental in the development of the first-ever Summit County Food Charter, which was adopted by Summit County Council and six city councils.  We also serve as a regional training center for women and men seeking to acquire the skills necessary to independently farm a small-scale vegetable operation.

SPIRITUALITY: Crown Point offers all who visit a chance to reconnect with nature and their spiritual selves.  Come walk our meadow labyrinth, attend our Winter Solstice program, or find your own quiet spot along our 5.5 miles of trails.

Crown Point Ecology Center is green space that matters – a biologically diverse living laboratory that serves to demonstrate practical applications of ecology. The 115-acre Crown Point farmland in Bath, Ohio is a regional model for sustainable agriculture and environmental education. We believe that ecological land stewardship encourages structural and social change through local food production, positive impacts on the environment, health of our citizens, and local economic development.

A snapshot of Crown Point Ecology Center’s recent accomplishments includes the following:

  • Donated 10,000 pounds of fresh produce in 201 to hungry families served by the Akron/Canton Regional Foodbank.
  • Donated 285,000 lbs of produce to the Akron/Canton Regional Foodbank since the start of the Foodbank Farm in 1997.
