Lessons from the Land 2014
Summer 2014 was the 9th year for Crown Point’s enriching and engaging day camp for explorers ages 6-11* years old.
Through investigation and unlimited discovery explorers learned the natural cycles of plants, animals and people on a farm. Crown Point’s land is a living classroom that awakens children’s sense of wonder through activities and games rooted in ecology, art, math, and language arts.
We investigated who’s eating whom in the Hausfeld Children’s Garden and explored the farm from field to forest, and barn to pond. Along the way, we harvested and prepared food for daily snacks, play team-building games, and learned how to set-up and run a children’s farm market!
Join us next summer as we explore Crown Point Ecology Center’s 115-acre farm, and follow our food from the field to the plate! Celebrate the life of a farmer as you work and play at Crown Point!
All sessions will be held from 9 am to 3 pm, Monday-Friday in Crown Point’s Century Barn.
Fee is $190 per child per session/ $180 each for siblings.
